Elite Land Tours was founded by Mark Farley in 2003 after traveling to Kenya to participate in a Safari. It occurred to Mark that no one was offering anything similar in the United States yet he knew there were areas with tremendous biodiversity... namely Joshua Tree National Park. (California has more species than any other state in the United States!)

Mark created the company to share magnificent California locations with the many visitors to the state. Utilizing a vehicle that was both comfortable and capable was one of the primary goals. Employing knowledgeable and experienced guides was another important goal. Years later, Elite continues to provide unique and memorable experiences while maintaining the original goals of the company.

Since opening Elite Land Tours, Mark has become a best-selling children's book author specializing in books about wildlife. Some of the titles include the following: Birds of Prey, Insects, Bats, Snakes, and Scorpions. Many of the animals, birds, reptiles, and insects that Mark writes about he encounters on a regular basis. Mark studies their behavior and keeps a detailed journal.
